Your Source for Style at State
The mission of VIM Magazine is to empower Michigan State University students to express their individuality through fashion and to strengthen the bonds within the MSU and greater Lansing community.
VIM Magazine is a registered student organization at Michigan State University. The name “VIM” comes from the MSU fight song and means enthusiasm and vitality. The first issue was released on November 1, 2010. VIM Magazine features content as it relates to fashion, beauty, health, interior design, and college life at MSU. Entirely student-run, VIM is published biyearly in the fall and spring semesters and distributed to students at no cost.
VIM is more than just a magazine. The organization has grown immensely in its short five-year existence. As one of the top ten largest RSO’s at MSU, VIM provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable fashion-related experience in a variety of fields: advertising, professional writing and editing, graphic design, photography, finance, marketing, public relations, video production and editing, social media, event planning and more. At VIM’s weekly meetings, guest speakers from a variety of industries speak to students about professional development and career-related advice. VIM directors host internship advising panels, resume workshops and interactive events for all members to be involved in.
