How to Get a Flawless Fake Tan

Let’s be real, guys, tanning is a no-go. Did you know that one in five Americans will get skin cancer in their lifetime? Plus, sunscreen is “cool” again (thanks to Glossier!). But more on that another day. Today we’re here to talk about how to get a great glow—without damaging your skin. From our OG Jergens to self-tanning sheet masks, we’re here to talk about the best of the best.

Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, our favorite self-tanner is a pricey one. But for the perfect sun kissed glow, it’s worth it. St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse is $42 and eight ounces of sweet golden SUN. It comes with an applicator mitt and is super easy to use.

Runner up and our top choice for dry skin is Josie Maran’s Argan Liquid Gold Self Tanning Oil. It will leave your skin hydrated, healthy and absolutely glowing.

If you’re not looking to drop $30+ on a fake tan, Jergens is our go-to brand. Jergens is super affordable, super easy and will leave you with a great natural tan. Our current favorite is the Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer. It’s somewhere in-between a self-tanner and moisturizer, and it is everything. You apply it directly to wet skin, so you know it will leave a luminous, natural finish.

Want something fail-proof? Try Tan Towels. Though they’re not intended for a deep tan, they’ll give an effortless, streak-free glow.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is by-far the best way to tan your face. It’s easier than bronzer and safer than the sun. Simply drip a few drops in your moisturizer every night. It’s super gentle on skin and won’t leave you orange or oily.

Feeling adventurous? Try out this St. Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Sheet Mask. Let us know how that one works—we’re dying to know.
